This coffee is from the Cerrado region in the state of Minas Gerais, the largest coffee-producing state in Brazil. The region is known for its rich soil that the natives call "Terra Roxa" or "Red Earth". This coupled with other factors such as consistent rains, high daytime temps, and dry winters make the Cerrado region ideal for producing coffee.
You don't need to be a connoisseur to savor the unique hints of cocoa and walnut in this coffee. It has low body and acidity levels, with an average sweetness rating. The farms are Fair Trade certified, and we're roasting it slightly darker than a typical medium roast. We enjoy brewing this coffee in our French press and it also makes a delightful cold brew.
