We are a family business with big dreams.

Our mission is to create opportunities for people to connect, grow and achieve their own dreams through our craft of roasting insanely fresh and delicious specialty coffee. We believe great coffee builds great community!

How We’re Different

At Kingdom Coffee Roasters, we want you to taste the difference.

Look, there is no magic here.  Simply put, we’re just different from your standard, non-specialty coffee.

The difference is in…

Our Freshness: When you can consume coffee within a month of roasting, it’s just so good. At KCR, freshness is priority 1.

Our Craft: We’ve taken picky to a whole new level, carefully hand picking out the not so good beans while they cool.

Our Flavors: Our coffee profiles (recipes) are second to none, creating a diverse offering of coffee and espresso flavors.

Our Value: Offering one-pound bags when other roasters only offer 12oz bags.

Our Family: Roasting is a family affair for us. Our daughter is the best at placing the labels on our bags, while you can chat it up with our son at the farmer’s market. And you’ll find us (Erin and Jesse) at home roasting and playing with coffee profiles till our hearts’ content to provide you a product that meets our high standards.

Our Community Commitment: We believe great coffee builds great community. We love to support our local non-profits and as we grow we look forward to providing jobs for those who need it most.

Our Story

Erin Dimick, co-owner of Kingdom Coffee Roasters (KCR) loves coffee…like REALLY loves coffee. The self-described “picky” coffee drinker used to be the big chain customer who would spring the six bucks for special reserve coffee over the daily brew any day.

It may be because of those Saturdays at the bagel shop as a teen; Saturdays spent working with her two friends at the bagel / coffee shop owned by her friend’s father.

They’d wrap up their busy day, splitting the duties of cleaning and cap it all off with making themselves a nice lunch to go, complete with a cookie and a Snapple. They’d take their packed lunches and head down to the reservoir to hang out after a hard (or shall we say fun?) day’s work. It’s where she found her second family, met her best friend who’s still her best friend today, and discovered a love for coffee.

Still, Erin never dreamt of owning her own coffee shop. She grew up, went to college, entered a corporate career, got married and started a family. But, after she and her family moved back to her husband, Jesse’s home state of VT, roasting coffee sort of fell on her lap.

Her friend, a real estate agent, invited her to see a home she was selling where the gentleman had a coffee roaster in his garage.  As it turned out, he was looking to sell his hobby business, and knowing Erin was looking for a change, the friend thought this might pique her interest. She was right!

Erin was working from home, but still finding it difficult to balance work with family.

Her children, now older, still needed her. As the saying goes, “bigger kids, bigger problems,” so Erin believed being more available for them was crucial.

She had also been craving community; something she missed about her corporate career. Working remotely made it difficult to build a community, and Erin simply wasn’t feeling filled up.

So, Erin watched that gentleman roast one day and she was hooked.  Coffee would fill her up (pun fully intended)!  He wanted to sell his business to someone who would be passionate about it, and Erin convinced Jesse they could be those “someones.” She knew with her passion, and his strong entrepreneurial spirit and community connections, they could take this business to the next level and build something special.

In January 2021, Erin and Jesse became the proud owners of KCR, where out of their now coffee-scented home, they are roasting one- and five-pound bags of insanely fresh, specialty coffee for wholesale and retail customers in the Northeast Kingdom and beyond.

More than that, KCR is family-focused and community-minded. Through coffee, Erin and Jesse aim to grow KCR, not only to support their family, but to also support local non-profits and provide jobs to those who need a hand up.

And as for that bagel shop from back in the day?  It’s now under new ownership, but Kingdom Coffee Roasters sits proudly on its shelf back in Erin’s hometown of Westborough, MA.
