End of August Update
Hello Coffee Drinking Friends,
Another update from the roastery! It is the end of August now, and we are about two and a half months into operating Kingdom Coffee Roasters.
Last week we started introducing new packaging to retailers, and we want to share why these changes were important. The old packaging required a lot of extra steps: four different labels, a stamp, two check marks, then finally filling and sealing each bag. Now the task is much simpler: three labels, fill, and seal. It might not sound like much, but small efficiencies really add up when you are roasting and packaging hundreds of pounds of coffee each week.
These updates are extra important to us, as Cal lives with chronic pain from an old back injury, which means energy and time have to be managed carefully. That perspective has shaped the way we approach the business: every improvement in efficiency means more focus on the coffee and on our customers. Andrea has a sharp eye for streamlining, and together we’ve built a system that works better every day.
We also wanted to make the bags easier for you to read and tell apart. The old designs did not offer much visual differentiation, which could make it tricky to know what you were picking up. With the new packaging, each coffee blend name is larger and paired with distinct artwork to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. The coffee itself has not changed, but we hope the new designs match the quality and spirit of what we roast: Vermont coffee for everyday adventure.
We all know change can be hard. Our goal is to build on what Kingdom Coffee Roasters has always been while giving it the tools to grow. Along with the updated brand logo and new label designs, our coffee bags are now 12 oz, the industry standard for coffee. The slightly smaller size means your coffee stays fresher while still delivering the same Vermont roasted quality you love.
Like everything in the coffee world right now, prices are shifting. Coffee has been all over the news lately, and rising costs are affecting roasters everywhere. We’ve made careful adjustments to keep Kingdom Coffee Roasters sustainable while still sourcing the specialty-grade beans you expect from us.
And for those who love a deal, our farm/coffee stand is stocked with the last of the one pound bags from the old packaging, on sale for just ten dollars per pound while supplies last. Our farmstand is cash/check only, just 50 feet down the driveway at 9340 Scotch Hollow Road, Newbury VT (and don’t let Maps send you to our neighbors on Jennings Lane, stay on scotch hollow, until you see the 9340 mailbox!)
Change is brewing, but don’t worry it still tastes like Kingdom Coffee!!
